She's eager for adventure, and has explored much of the wasteland already before the player meets her. If the player engages Veronica in conversation, she will express her desire to travel with you outright. Veronica is most likely the easiest companion to aquire due to the fact that there is absolutely no requirement for obtaining her. Veronica's weapons of choice are special companion weapons, meaning they will never break or run out of ammunition.

Being a Journeyman Scribe, Veronica is responsible for acquiring supplies for the Hidden Valley bunker along with the other duties of a scribe, but relishes her time above ground and to explore life outside of the bunker as everyone is glad to have her out of the bunker. By , Veronica has become increasingly frustrated with the Brotherhood of Steel's unabiding adherence to the Codex  and inability to adapt to changing times. Veronica was born into the Brotherhood, like virtually every member of the organization in the 23rd century. Her father was a Paladin and her mother a Scribe. Both were killed in the same battle with the New California Republic while she was still a child, and she was brought up by the whole Brotherhood as a result. Father Elijah took a keen interest in her education, becoming her tutor and eventually a parental figure or the next best thing; Veronica never had a grandfather and Elijah was what she imagined one would be like. From a very young age before she was even able to speak, according to her , she demonstrated an aptitude for engineering, taking things apart and putting them back together.

The trading post is a location in the Mojave Wasteland. The interchange of Highway 95 and Highway 93 has seen high traffic both before and after the Great War , especially after the New California Republic moved into the Mojave around However, a trading post wasn't established here until September of , when a pair of traders from Primm set up shop here after the NCRCF prison break forced them to flee the city the wave of escaped convicts. Capitalizing on their experience in Primm, they established the Slop 'n Shop, offering food , water , supplies and repair services to travelers. Through , the trading post became a hub of commerce frequented by soldiers, merchants, and NCR citizens either heading to New Vegas with pockets full of caps or returning back home with nothing but the shirts on their backs.
